Infertility Women Causes – The Major Causes of Female Infertility

A woman’s ability to ovulate is a key component of successful conception. In short, a woman who has no means of producing an egg will have zero chance of conceiving. Key signs of ovulation problems include either irregular or absent menstrual periods.

Female Conditions

PCOS and POI are 2 of the more common issues regarding ovulation. Polycystic ovarian syndrome is defined as a hormonal problem that interferes with the normal ovulation mechanism. It is the highest recorded cause of female infertility.

On the other hand, primary ovarian insufficiency, is a condition wherein the female’s ovaries cease to function properly before she turns 35 years old. POI is usually mistaken as early-stage menopause, a condition that is a lot different.

Related Causes

There are other uterine problems that also contribute to infertility.

- Uterual Fibroids (i.e. non-cancerous bumps on the uterine walls

- Clogged Fallopian tubes because of ectopic pregnancy surgery, pelvic inflammatory disease or endometriosis

- Physical issues with the uterus

Factors That Increase Infertility Risks

Aside from health problems, lifestyle and genetic elements can also cause infertility in women. These would include:

- Alcohol and smoking

- Poor diet

- Age

- Too much physical activity

- Stress at the workplace or home

- Being underweight or overweight

- Sexually transmitted infections

- Health issues that affect the body’s hormone producing abilities

Infertility Women Causes - The Age Factor

Often American women nowadays do not have children until their 30s and 40s…and 1/3 of the total number of infertility cases involve females over the age of 35.

Why Does Age Matter To Fertility?

- Ovaries deteriorate over time, and this affects their egg-releasing capability

- Older gals produce less eggs

- The eggs of an older woman are less healthy

- Older women may experience healthy issues that interfere with her fertility

- Older women have a higher rate of miscarrieag

Medication that Stimulates Fertility

These drugs are often prescribed for women who have fertility problems.

- Clomiphene citrate: Often recommended for women with PCOS and hormonal related malfunctions. You might recognize it by its popular brand Clomid, an oral drug.

- Human menopausal gonadotropin: hMG is an injection used to stimulate the ovaries directly so that egg formation occurs. Repronex and Pergonal are two of the more popular medication brands.

- Gonadotropin-releasing hormone analog: Gn-RH is a medication often prescribed for women who don’t ovulate regularly. It affects the pituitary gland to alter the timing and process of ovulation. It is available as an injectable or nasal spray form.

- Follicle stimulating hormone: The FSH is also an injectable and acts on the ovaries to encourage ovulation. Popular brands are Gonal-F and Follistim.

- Metformin: Metformin is recommended for women with either PCOS or insulin resistance. This medication, which is often taken with FSH or clomiphene, can help balance and regulate the male hormones in the female body and eventually assist women in the ovulation process.

- Bromocriptine: Prolactin is a hormone that causes production of milk in the mammary glands. Prolactin in sufficient levels causes ovulation to stop. Bromocriptine can slow down the release of prolactin and help make ovulation happen.

Multiple Birth Risk

While fertility inducing drugs are highly successful at helping women have a baby, they also have a high chance of developing multiple fetuses. Females with multiple fetuses have the higher risk of developing pregnancy problems than women who carry a single fetus. More than one fetus in the womb increases the risk for premature birth…and an infant who’s been born premature has the greater chance of developing problems with health as he or she grows up.

Fertility medications may lead to ovarian hyperstimulation, which is a medical condition that may threaten mortality.

Because of the increased risks to health plus the rising cost of assisted reproductive technology, infertility problems have addressed with alternative methods minus the adverse effects. Such remedies cover a wide range of natural treatments that are meant to assist body healing. Some of the more popular alternative treatments include nutritional therapy, acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine.

My First Baby Essentials

Thursday, December 24th, 2009

Having a baby for the first time invokes a lot of emotions. You feel happy yet fear at the same time because you still do not know what to do. You feel excited yet you also feel anxious because you are delving into the unknown. These are just some of the emotions a mother can feel when she has her “my first baby moments.”

Being that this is your first baby, you should not entrust everything to motherly instincts. You should also do some research and studies on the essentials in taking care of a baby. The matter of fact is that, your baby will be dependant totally on you for its comfort and also for its survival.

The most basic concerns that mothers should be focusing on especially on their baby’s first couple of weeks are feeding and sleeping.

Feeding Your Baby

Having adequate nourishment is essential to your baby’s proper development that is why he or she needs to be fed with the right amount of milk at the right time.

Baby can be given ready to feed formula. It is safe and healthy. However, you must not mix this with water because your baby might not get sufficient calories. On the other hand, concentrated formula which has to be mixed with water should be in a ratio of 1 is to 1. Usually after a couple of weeks, your baby will be able to consume more or less a quart of formula each day. You should also check if your baby manifests symptoms such as frequent vomiting, diarrhea,
constipation or rashes as this may mean that the formula is not fit for him or her and may need to be changed. This is also the reason why it is still highly suggested that you breastfeed your baby if possible as this is better than any milk or formula in the market.

It will have an interval of almost 2 to 3 hours for proper feeding time for a baby. A common sign that you should look out for is crying that can’t be hushed through lullabies.

You can also check if your baby is having adequate nourishment or not. A properly nourished baby will usually have a wet diaper during the 2 to 3 hour interval and the color of the urine should be clear. Stool is soft and yellow in color. Breast-fed babies will typically pass tools 6 times in a day while bottle-fed ones may pass stools every three days.

Sleeping

Babies sleep normally for a length of 10 to 23 hours day. Any less of the minimum can be detrimental to your baby’s development. Here are some tips on how you can help your baby achieve the normal length of sleep he or she needs:

* Make sure that your baby has completed his or her rituals before you put him or her to sleep. This includes feeding, burping, and diaper change.

* Wrap your baby securely so as to stop him or her from doing excessive movements that can cause disturbance while he is asleep. This will also provide your baby warmth.

* Place your baby in supine position. According to some studies is has been observed that letting your baby sleep on his or her back is the safest position for him or her and it reduces the chances of sudden infant death.

Feeding and sleeping are just two of a “my first baby essentials.” Basically, these are your main responsibilities for the first couple of weeks.

Children Suffering from Paternity Fraud

Sunday, December 20th, 2009

The harm caused by paternity fraud is not in doubt.  Consider this…  A poll in Women’s Day discovered that 56% of surveyed women admitted that they would lie about paternity in order to get child support.  Women who named potential fathers in the US result (via DNA Tests) in over 30% of these men not being the real dad.. were determined to not be the biological father of the child.  But the State has decided that they want the victims of paternity fraud to have no recourse.  If you (or your son, brother, husband) is administratively assigned to be “the dad” then they will pay… forever.  And the damage inflicted on marriages, families, the health of the victim, his family, and the deceived children themselves is preventable and unnecessary.

And it seems that there is no help in sight.  Pleading to Legislatures to put truth and justice into the system falls on deaf ears.  Federal funds are distributed to States for every child support case they process and manage.  As long as they can name anyone and make them pay the State government gets the benefit of Federal largess.  There arn’t support groups, financial assistance, counseling, or any other help available to the families who are paying for children they had no part in bringing in to this world.  “But what about these children?” is a common rebuke we hear.  Well, let’s look at it?  since these childrens mothers either have no idea who fathered them, or they have decided to lie about it, they will never know their true family medical history.    They are emotionally scarred because they have been misled about their parentage by their own mothers.  This cannot be fixed by simply stealing money for them.    Only honest and open truth can.

The only person benefiting from this fraud are these mothers that either chose to lie, or simply doesn’t know, who the real dad is.  This is not in the best interest of our children.  State agencies operating under the misguided believe that they are enforcing parental relationships.    But in most of the cases we have reviewed the men are either not in contact with the children, the mothers are preventing contact, or the victim of paternity fraud is in another city or State.    Sometimes this is the man’s choice.     However there are hundreds of thousands of cases where all these mothers really want for their child is money. They do not believe that having a father in their child’s life is important and even if they do they are ignoring the real father of the child.    Once the children know that the man they have known as  “dad” is not their father this does damage to these kids that will never heal.    Then they also have the stress of wondering who is their father and where do they really come from.    All because their mother is either a liar, or just doesn’t know who fathered her children.

Then, looking at the biological children of the same man….  Their entire family environment is suddently changed to one of stress, financial hardship, and depression due to an unfair child support system.  These children will have to live with emotional and financial suffering for their lifetime. In many cases these children live with both of their biological parents and are witness to the stress and hardships that paternity fraud causes in their parent’s marriage.  The suffering of these hardships should not be endured by them.  They see that they can benefit from fraud and lying.    What kind of message are we sending to these kids?  Allowing the continuation of paternity fraud in the age of DNA testing is not in their best interest.

We need to think of our children and stop this injustice.  We need to force Missouri to make the read dad pay. To let the legislators know that anything less than full truth and justice is unacceptable.  The time to end paternity fraud in Missouri is now.  Our children cannot afford less.

Labor Pain Is Worst Pain

Thursday, October 8th, 2009

Childbirth pain is an unfortunate reality and one of the worst kinds of pain that women have to endure. Often, this kind of pain is very intense and it prolongs over a period of time and will even radiate from several different parts of the body. Childbirth pain is generally caused when the tissues in the body are stretched, especially vaginal tissues as too tissues of the cervix and also tissues in the parts of the body through which the baby must pass during delivery.

Feel of childbirth pain comes due to contraction

However, it is not right to think that the uterus is unable to squeeze to allow the baby to exit it. The plain truth is that the uterus does contract and this in turn leads to the muscles of the woman’s cervix being pulled up in order to facilitate passage of the newborn. However, these very contractions also cause childbirth pain and in addition it is also possible to experience accompanying swelling and the pain too can last for several weeks post delivery.

A woman’s pelvic area too has concentration of nerves that too will respond in a sharp manner whenever pressure is applied to it, especially when contractions take place and this in turn leads to feeling pain in that area. What’s more, tension in the muscles in this area exacerbates the pain and even though the spinal cord does lessen the pain there is still considerable amount of it that bothers a woman during childbirth.

It is of course possible to block childbirth pain through three different means: stop the pain by not letting it out from the affected tissues; stop the pain at the spinal cord and finally, to not allow the brain to feel the pain.

Another way to get relief from childbirth pain is to practice methods of relaxation that will ensure that the muscles do not tense up. In addition, it pays to identify the best position for labor as well as for pushing the baby out of the body as this too will ensure less amount of childbirth pain. Nubain is the medicine which is useful when there is need to control the childbirth pain from the spinal cord without making pain to brain.

Today, thanks to modern technology and advancements in medical science pain free childbirth has become a new reality. Often, even changing your mindset about childbirth can prove to be effective in succeeding in delivering a baby without experiencing any pain.
